Into the great unknown, I did travel as I toured around the site of Lovefest 2018. This is a festival that celebrates the life and birthday of H.P. Lovecraft, with this years fest marking the 128th anniversary of his birth.

For some background, Howard Phillips Lovecraft was an author of Fantasy, Horror and the Science Fiction genres. His works are varied and many, with one of his most famous creations being the Cthulhu mythos. He is often considered, along with Edgar Allen Poe, one of the greatest horror writers of all time.

Running from August 17 till August 26th, Lovefest embraces and celebrates Lovecraft’s works and life with varied shows, readings, wares, and other entertainments. (I will post the entire schedule below.) Many of these will be presented at The Regent Theatre, pictured below.

There are many lovely shops and areas to visit and I was glad to see a map board placed near the central landing point.

As well as many lovely works of art in nooks and crannies about the festival grounds.
